I got my start in painting back in the old school lacquer
days doing vehicle touch ups for friends and neighbors.
It quickly turned into painting truck roll pans--doing body
and fender work and painting the neighborhoods
motorcycles. I am a self taught painter learning through
trial and error the art of custom painting. Nobody can
teach you how to mix paint for that one of a kind look,
nor can they teach you the disasters that will happen if
you cut corners. You have to crawl before you can walk
so to speak. Moving to the south suburbs of Chicago in
the mid 80's, i soon had a following of custom car guys
and bikers wanting to update the look of their rides
Here at KERRY'S CUSTOM PAINT & GRAPHICS I feel that
I put out a great product, both in design and quality. I
never ever cut corners. I use only the best materials and
I am constantly testing new products to ensure that I stay
up to date with the current products and techniques. I
seal every job with epoxy primers or 2k primers. This
ensures what I paint will never peel, crack or shrink. I go
that extra mile on every step of the job to ensure a
superior finish and shine. Every job is finished with four
coats of clear, then sanded and cleared again with two
more coats of clear. Then the job is color sanded and
buffed to a glass finish. I use multiple spray guns while
painting your parts.
I have a separate gun for dark colors---one for light
colors--one for primers--one for intercoat clears--and one
for the final clearing.
My guns are cleaned and lubricated after each and every
