| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
How much do I pay you to start a job? I accept 50% down and balance after final approval and before return shipment. How long will my job take to be finished? About 3- 4 weeks (plus shipping) from the time I get your sheet metal. This also depends on the season. During the busy season, it can take 6-8 weeks depending on the current workload. I can usually get the simplistic jobs out the door under the 3 week time frame. However please allow the full amount of time for the more elaborate jobs. Remember it takes time to sand, paint, let finishes cure, applying the clear, graphics, flames, different colors, etc. There is downtime between these steps. I do not believe in rushing a job or pushing the paint beyond it's intended limits. Remember small dents--dings and scratches are included in the price. Do you let me know how the job is progressing? From beginning to end you will get photos and reports via email from me regarding your job. I stay focused on your parts. No other job will be painted in my shop until your job is complete. Can I trade in a set of tins for a pre-painted set? Yes you can trade in a good set of sheet metal for a pre- painted set or a custom painted set. Simply send me your sheet metal along with your payment for the custom set or pre-painted set (less credit) and I will then send you the pre-painted set of your choice. You can also buy a pre-painted or custom set and I will ship them to you. After you remove your old tins and install your new set, simply ship your old set to me within two weeks and I will refund to you the core charge. Your down time is virtually one day. Why should I choose KERRY'S CUSTOM PAINT & GRAPHICS? 1. My work is comparable to higher end custom painters. 2. My prices are very reasonable. 3. My service is quick. Usually 3 to 4 weeks or sooner. (DOES NOT INCLUDE SHIPPING TIME AND SEASON) 4. Not one unhappy customer and I strive to keep it that way. How do you ship my items back to me? Your items will be packaged and fully insured using UPS Ground--FED-EX--DHL--OR THE US POST OFFICE. I USE FOAM--BUBBLE WRAP & PACKING PEANUTS In other words, they will be packed like crystal. PLEASE NOTE: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING CAN BE COSTLY DUE TO SIZE AND WEIGHT OF PACKAGES. What brand of paint do you use? House of Kolor--PPG--HARLEY DAVIDSON AND METRIC BIKE OEM FINISHES. Do you offer any type of warranty? There is a 18 month written warranty on all my work. Cracking, fading, or peeling is fully covered. It does not apply to road rash--dropped bikes--or bikes involved in accidents. PLEASE NOTE As hard as I try to seal the fuel filler area on tanks, they cannot be given the standard warranty. The filler area will have a 30 day warranty due to the fuel vapors possibly seeping out around the fuel cap. TO HELP PREVENT THIS IF IT EVEN HAPPENS, I RECOMMEND PAINT SAVERS AND OR VENTED CAPS ON YOUR TANK. Are you a full time painter? Painting is a passion for me just as my bikes are. I have a full time job and painting is my passion. First of all I enjoy the art of custom painting. I also believe custom painting should be affordable for everyone. Not just guys with disposable cash. Some shops paint to feed there family and pay for a 2000 square FT shop. They have to pay a bodyman, a buffer, a janitor, heat, electric, and rent. All these things inflate prices to cover those costs. Let me explain. A full time painter needs to paint and turn out jobs quickly to make a profit to cover his overhead. You in turn WILL pay more. I paint your parts as quickly as possible without having to turn out 5 sets a month to pay rent and help. EXAMPLE- If your neighbor was a plumber and you needed work done, you would call him, have that work done professionally, and you saved about 50% or more of the cost as opposed to calling the company he actually worked for. Just because someone doesn't paint 10 hours a day, doesn't mean you wont get a professional job. It actually makes economical sense to use a painter who will not add his high overhead to the cost of your job. Why would you want to pay it ? I have a paint gun or airbrush in my hands 4 to 5 hours a day. I am constantly spraying tins and parts trying out new designs, techniques, and color combinations. Lets face it. Every painter out there wants business. I am no exception. However I WILL NOT criticize other painters to get that business. Being honest with customers pays off by earning there trust and respect. Most importantly, it creates friendships. You WILL get a professional job from a professional passion minded painter. Your prices seem lower than other painters for the same quality work. Can you tell me why? My shop is fitted with lighting--ventilation and is climate controlled. I have virtually no overhead- I control the job from start to finish because everything is done by me. I pay ME AND NOBODY ELSE. I DO NOT HAVE TO PAY SANDERS-JANITORS-OR A BUFFER AND I DO NOT HAVE TO DO BODY WORK ON CARS TO STAY IN BUSINESS. I ONLY PAINT BIKES. 95% OF THE TIME I DONT MAKE A PENNY PAINTING TINS. I BASICALLY WORK FOR MY LABOR COSTS ONLY AND I DO NOT MARK UP MATERIAL. IF I HAD TO ADD A PROFIT TO THOSE COSTS, SAY TO PAY RENT AND HELP-- MY PRICES WOULD BE ALOT MORE TO ACTUALLY COVER THOSE COSTS. REMEMBER I HAVE A REGULAR JOB WITH A PAYCHECK, SO I DONT NEED TO CHARGE ALOT FOR MY PAINT WORK. I CAN VIRTUALLY UNDERCUT ANYBODY BECAUSE I DONT FEED MY FAMILY BY PAINTING TINS. In other words-I dont take a mexico vacation after I paint your parts. |
